The Global Avocado Summit is confirmed for Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Casino Monticello Event Center. The event is organized both by the Chilean Avocado Committee, an independent association representing Chilean growers, producers, marketers and distributors whose purpose is to promote the sustainable development of the industry and disseminate its best practices, and Yentzen Group, a leading company in organizing high-end agricultural industry events.
This new and necessary event aims to collaboratively analyze the national and international factors currently impacting the global avocado industry. Over the past decade, Chile has been one of the world’s major avocado suppliers, and it currently boasts a domestic market that has gained significant importance following the Covid-19 pandemic. With an annual consumption of nearly 8.2 kilograms per person, Chile has become the world leader in per capita avocado consumption. As the avocado continues to be recognized as a superfood, it remains a key pillar of the agricultural industry.
It’s not news that the avocado industry has undergone significant changes worldwide, particularly in Chile.
In the realm of the so-called “green gold”, several new supplier countries and markets have entered the scene. The industry is actively addressing challenges like unrelenting drought, while embracing significant advancements and efficiencies, particularly in areas such as irrigation and sustainability.
Currently, there are over 30,000 productive hectares in Chile, with Europe, China, Argentina, and the United States being the primary destinations.
This is why the focus of the Global Avocado Summit 2024 is to analyze the evolution of these markets, understand the dynamics of potential new destinations, and delve into the commercial, sustainability, marketing, and communication strategies of supplier nations. The goal is to enhance competitiveness and take advantage of emerging opportunities. The event will feature in-person participation, exhibitions, and panels with key marketers and exporters, along with invaluable insights from the South American and global avocado industry.
The event will undoubtedly bring together the global avocado industry, providing a platform to discuss what the future holds for both Chile and the rest of the world.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Monticello Casino Event Center!
